Description:

This is a very nice example of one of only approximately 900 Model 1871 civilian model Rolling Block pistol in very rare factory nickel finish and ivory stocks. The left side of the receiver is marked "REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y. U.S.A./Pat. MAY 3 NOV. 15TH, 1864 APRIL 17TH, 1866" and the serial number is marked on the left side of the grip straps under the grip. Pinched blade front and breechblock notch rear sights, all nickel finish with niter blue trigger, and mounted with a smooth ivory forearm and one-piece grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good as period replated. The pistol retains 70% nickel finish with some minor pitting on the barrel and edges of the receiver on the right side. The trigger shows flashes of the original niter blue in protected areas. The forearm and grip are also very fine with some minor age cracking, an attractive grain and a mellow patina. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. A very nice rare Civilian Model 1871 Army configuration
