The German silver barrel is marked "UNWIN & RODGERS/PATENTEES. SHEFFIELD" on the left flat and "NON*XLL" on the right flat with the upper left flat having two British proofs. The 2 inch blade and the 3 1/4 inch clip blade are marked "UNWIN &/RODGERS/PATENT" on the left ricasso. The clip point blade also has an etched scroll and eagle pattern with "SELF/PROTECTOR" on the left side. Cocking the hammer opens the breech for loading/unloading with the ears on the extractor acting as a rear sight. The knives and pistol are enclosed in a German silver case. It has a folding lid compartment for caps on the back strap. The scales are smooth stag.

Very fine. Most of the German silver remains showing some minor handling marks. The blades are very fine with crisp acid etching with the balance a mottled gray patina. The scales are fine with a few missing surface chips, a repaired chip near the butt and some minor handling marks. The stag has a very attractive color and pattern. Mechanically fine.
