Manufactured circa 1860 to 1873 with a total production of approximately 20,000. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates, and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom barrel flat and frame ahead of the trigger. Brass post front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer, silver trigger guard and niter blue trigger, and fitted with checkered gutta percha grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 50% original blue finish with a majority of the loss on the frame which shows a smooth mottled brown patina and strong original blue in the protected areas. The hammer has a dark mottled patina. The trigger retains most of the bright original niter blue finish. The trigger guard has an attractive aged patina. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
