The octagon barrel has a section of fluting from the rear of the front sight to the forend tip and is marked "K. ZIMMERMANN/+LUZERN+" on the top flat ahead of the adjustable rear sight. The barrel also has a front ramp sight base. The sides of the receiver feature elaborate engraved scenes. The left side depicts survivors of a ship wreck in a lifeboat making it to shore during rough seas and the right side depicts a lord overseeing his peasants. The top and bottom of the receiver and the trigger guard have a geometric engraving. The stock has ornate checkering and an ornate ivory and pearl floral inlaid pattern. The dished out cheekpiece has an ivory inlay depicting "the three musketeers" which is surrounded by the ornate ivory and pearl inlaid pattern. The custom adjustable hook buttplate has a geometric engraving. The right side of the buttstock has a carved thumb rest and a brass plate marked "C.G. MACDONALD/LONG BEACH". The rifle has a custom palm rest and double set triggers.

Very fine. The barrel retains 85% of the thinning original blue finish. The receiver and lever retain 70% original case colors otherwise faded to gray. The three musketeer inlay shows a couple cracks otherwise most of the inlays are intact. The wood is excellent with some minor pressure dents and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
