The right lock is marked "M.I. CHAUMONT" and the left lock is marked "FABRICANT LIEGE". The barrels are Damascus with ribs and a solid concave rib with a single brass bead sight. The locks, hammers and barrel tang are engraved with a scroll pattern and bordered by a geometric pattern. The silver trigger guard and finial are nicely relief chiseled with the likeness of an ancient man and a dog. The ramrod finial has a relief chiseled urn and floral design. Wooden ramrod, sling swivel on the rear ramrod pipe and mounted with a straight grip walnut half stock with silver wedge escutcheons, relief carved vine and leaf design on the forearm and wrist, elks head with glass eyes on the belly, and raised fish scale and floral design which creates a cheek piece. The tang, toe and side extensions of the silver buttplate are relief chiseled animal scenes. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches.

Fine. The barrels has a smooth gray patina with much of the Damascus pattern remaining. The hammers and locks have a bright appearance. The silver components have an aged patina. The revarnished stock is also very good with a few minor pressure dents, dings and scratches. The carving is sharp. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
