Description:

Single nickel bead sight, with open chokes, a pair of gold bands ahead of the breech, "London" marked scroll engraved rib, and light scroll engraving and a golden "LONDON" stamp on the breech. A Liege proof is present on the underside of the left barrel, with "442" and "DAMASSE". Further engraving is present on the back action locks, fish head pattern hammers, and upper tang. Checkered straight wrist stock, with a brass tipped ramrod, blank inscription shield on the wrist, an ornamental plate shaped and engraved as two doves perched on a flower on the underside, engraved tip, escutcheons and trigger guard, and a smooth buttplate with engraved heel. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally, possibly period, refinished, showing 98% of the brown twist pattern on the barrels with well defined gray streaking and mild handling marks. Some mild pitting is visible beneath the blue finish, which is 95% with mild edge wear and handling marks. The stock is also fine as refinished with mild pressure dents and attractive grain. Mechanically excellent.
