The head is fitted to the smooth hardwood shaft with a long metal collar. A lanyard ring is installed on the base. 2) Measuring 24 inches long and weighing in at 8 pounds, this mace is equipped with a 3 1/4 inch screw-profile spike atop a lobed iron striker head, with a brass accent between the head and shaft and a smooth grip with brass dragon head guard and lobed brass pommel. The shaft is very good, with mild dents and varnish loss. 2) Fair, with a dark brown patina overall, showing mild pitting. The brass has an aged patina in the protected areas and is bright on the high points.
