Description:

1) Victorian era halberd with 21 inch forged steel head with a cross shaped piercing. The round wooden shaft is 68 1/4 inches long. 2) Early 20th century halberd stamped "CP" and "MRL" on the 18 3/4 inch steel head. The round wooden shaft is 68 1/2 inches long. 3) 18th century halberd having a forged 14 1/4 inch iron head with 12 inch langets integral to the head. There are 19 1/2 inch straps protecting the top of the 69 inch wooden shaft having 5 grooves running the length. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, there is a dark aged patina with some scattered minor scratches. The shaft is also very good with scattered scratches and dings. 2) Good, there is a dark patina with minor pitting overall. The shaft is very good with some scattered scratches and dings. 3) Fair, there is a dark brown patina with minor pitting, scattered minor dents and dings on the point and edges, a couple small cracks, and the bottom portion of the axe side has a riveted repair. The shaft is good with scattered scratches and dings
