When open, the knife measures 23 1/2 inches long, with a 10 3/4 inch long clip point blade, bearing three etched panels on each side, with a scene of birds and flowers flanked by scrollwork on the left, and a pondside gazebo, floral arrangements and an unidentified figure on the right. Steel frame, with a beaded design on the pommel, and grips consisting of 4 panels of smooth bone, bisected by two smooth mother of pearl panels.

Fine overall. The steel components show a mixed brown and gray patina, with spotting, handling marks and sharp etching. A few small cracks are visible on the panels.
