Description:

1) This trident has a two-piece forged iron head that measures 14 1/2 inches long. The two curved spikes are riveted to the central spike. The round wooden shaft is 69 inches long. 2) This 17th/18th Century trident has a forged 11 inch long iron head that is pierced with a cross and has an indecipherable inscription on one side. The round wooden shaft is 69 1/4 inches long with a tassel at the top. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

1) Good, a dark aged patina covers the metal components. The central spike has been shortened and has a couple minor bends. The replacement shaft is very good with scattered scratches, dings and rub marks. 2) Good, the iron head has an aged patina with a minor ding at the tip, a small bend near the tip and a small crack at the base of one curved point. The replacement shaft is very good with scattered minor scratches and dings.
