Description:

Although not specifically engraved with his name, the left side of the slide has been custom engraved with a large stylized "Nazi Eagle", clutching the Nazi Swastika emblem over crossed "Feldmarshall Batons", that is the emblem of Reichmarshall Hermann Goring. He was probably the most emblematic Nazi official that is always pictured with his Feldmarschall's Baton, which would clearly tie this pistol to him. The pistol itself has a beautiful custom "vine and floral" engraving with a punch dot back ground, similar to the factory pattern that covers over 95% of the pistol. The entire outside of the pistol was then "Gold Washed" and the engraving was highlighted with a black baked on "ink" highlight, that makes the engraving clearly visible. As noted the stylized Nazi eagle on the slide is approximately "1 3/8th" inches long and is located on the upper center section of the slide on the left side. Below the Nazi Eagle is the standard Walther factory two line slide markings, with the 60 degree safety lever. The right side of the chamber area has the early pre-April 1939 "Crown/N" commercial proof, with the serial number stamped vertically on the frame in front of the grip. The slide is fitted with the standard low profile fixed sights and black checkered plastic grips with Walther banners at the top on each side. It is complete with a blue unmarked Walther type magazine that has the matching black plastic magazine base.

Rating Definition:

Custom embellished with 98% of the "gold washed" finish with only minor edge wear. Pitting is visible under the plating at the bottom of the muzzle and in the magazine well. The grips are excellent with nice distinct checkering on both sides with clear sharp checkering on both sides. The magazine is a post-war replacement. Mechanically fine.
