Manufactured from 1921 to 1944 with this special order gold plated example having a factory relief engraving. The full deluxe engraving covers nearly all of the metal surfaces. The engraving is an oak leaf and punch dot pattern and the engraving surrounds the slide markings. The left side of the slide is marked "Walther's Patent Mod. 9" above the Walther banner and the right has the Walther address marking. Commercial "Crown/N" proofs are stamped on the right side of the slide and frame. The rear of the slide has an indicator pin. The pistol is fitted with a set of smooth ivory grips featuring the intertwined logo on the left panel and "6.35" on the right panel. The magazine is gold plated and has the Walther banner on the base.

Fine. The pistol retains 40% original gold plating with the balance the (nickel or silver) under-plating. The grips are very good with a cracked right panel and some hairline age cracks with a small missing chip on the left panel. The ivory has an attractive grain pattern and color. Mechanically excellent.
