Description:

Introduced for German combatants in the Spanish Civil War, the Spanish Cross medals covered the whole spectrum of recognition; the Gold with Swords was reserved for those who had thoroughly distinguished themselves in the face of the enemy, with only 1126 members of the Condor Legion earning the award. Measuring 2 1/8 inches wide and tall, with the swastika in the center of the cross, a Luftwaffe eagle between each arm of the cross, and backed by a pair of crossed swords. Proofed "CEJ/800" on the back underneath the arm.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with some light wear on the edges of the arms.
