This Colt National Match .38 Special Mid Range pistol was embellished by renowned Master Engraver H.Q. Acevedo. The gold plated pistol has an extensive, near full coverage of deep relief scroll engraving on a black matte background. The front grip strap is signed "ENG. BY/H.Q. ACEVEDO." The slide retains the original Colt factory markings and the serial number on the right side of the frame is inside a banner. The barrel and small parts including the grip safety and serrated mainspring housing have a niter blue finish. The pistol features an adjustable trigger, Elliason rear sight and smooth ivory grips. The blue magazine is marked "COLT .38 SPEC." on the base. Horacio Q. Acevedo's work has been featured in THE BOOK OF COLT ENGRAVING and THE RAMPANT COLT by R. L. Wilson, AMERICAN ENGRAVERS by Bleile & Beinfeld and Adler’s COLT LEGENDS. H.Q. Acevedo died in 2010 and today his son, Horacio F. Acevedo, continues the family legacy at Acevedo Restoration and Engraving, Inc.

Professionally embellished by Master Engraver H.Q. Acevedo. The pistol retains 99% plus of the gold plating. 97% of the niter blue finish remains with some minor high edge wear. The grips are excellent with a few hairline age cracks. The ivory has a very attractive color. Mechanically excellent.
