Manufactured in 1896. Marble blade front sight with elevation adjustable rear sight. The top of the barrel has the two line address and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang has the three line model/trade mark information with the serial number on the underside of the frame. Full length magazine, smooth forearm and straight grip stock and crescent buttplate.

Very good. The rifle retains traces of the original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The hammer and lever retain traces of original case colors. The wood is good with a shallow gouge, some surface chipping near the stock toe and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
