Date of manufactured unknown. This rifle bears several marks associated with the Sturmtruppes (assault teams) employed by the Germans in the later years of World War I. Using combined arms tactics, light and fast infantry units would move in under cover of rolling artillery to punch through weak points in the enemy defenses, with machine gun and flamethrower troopers moving in to exploit the openings. Blade and tangent sights, with no makers marks on the receiver ring and a set of faint "eagle/ WaA214" proofs on the barrel, along with "two bar/totenkopf" and "lazy S/totenkopf" stamps on either side of the barrel ahead of the receiver. Milled components, with matching numbers. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock, with the totenkopf stamp behind the trigger guard, matching number behind the rear sling base, and a flat steel butt. Comes with a metal muzzle cover and a bayonet with 9 3/4" blade, "88" on the spine, "74.R.1.182." on the guard, smooth grips and leather scabbard with metal throat and tip.

Very good as Arsenal reworked/ refurbished (as most SS K98 were), with half of the partially later refinished blue remaining, showing light pitting on the barrel band, areas of brown patina, and scattered handling marks. The stock has been refinished/renumbered showing some scratches and pressure dents. The bayonet has been polished, with cracking of the leather. Mechanically excellent.
