Description:

Introduced in 1937 and revised in 1943, the Order of the German Eagle was intended for issue to non-Germans, particularly diplomatic agents, both as tokens of esteem and as a reward for services provided. The "Swords" variant was reserved for foreign military personnel. Based around a white enamel filled Maltese cross, 2 inches wide, with Nazi Eagles between the arms, crossed swords on the front, and backed by an eight-pointed radiant star, 3 5/8 inches wide and tall, secured with two rivets and marked "37" under the pin arm. Included with the award is a black velvet pouch.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with some light wear concentrated on the edges. The pin hook is slightly bent, locking the pin in place. A scarce and attractive Nazi German political award.
