Measuring 16 1/4 inches overall, the Forestry Service Knife was as much a badge of office as a tool with the adornment of the hilt serving as an identifier of rank. 11 3/4 inch single edged blade with etched woodland scenes on each side and the Holler makers mark on the left ricasso. Gilt finished brass hilt with a hoof shaped rear quillion, raised oak leaf and animal designs on the guard and languet, a Nazi eagle on the obverse and a pair of stag horn grips with 3 gilt oak leaves on each side. With a gilt brass fitted black leather sheath with an acorn frog stud.

Excellent with some minor spotting and handling marks on the blade. The etched panels are well cut and finely detailed. Traces of original gold are present on the hilt with a finely aged patina on the visible brass and minimal wear on the grips. A few small handling marks are present on the sheath.
