Description:

Measuring 13 5/8 inches overall, the 8 5/8 inch blade is etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" on the obverse and the Herder maker mark on the reverse. The top of the Herder mark has been polished off, with horizontal grinding marks on the reverse spine not mirrored on the obverse, suggesting that this blade was an Ernst Rohm presentation knife that had the inscription removed on orders from Himmler following the Night of Long Knives. Nickel guard with "3814" and "I" on the reverse and standard inlays on the black hardwood grip. With a black enamel finished, nickel fitted sheath.

Rating Definition:

Fine. A small amount of pitting is present on the obverse, with scattered handling marks overall. A few small cracks are present on the otherwise fine grip, along with a small chip at the guard and some dents. The polished blade (see above) is fine otherwise. Sheath is very fine, with minor flaking of the enamel, which is 90% plus intact.
