Description:

This is a representative example of a Nazi G41 semi-automatic rifle that was manufactured by the Berlin-Lubecker Company, that has the rare rear sight base machined for the early sniper scope mount (not included). These rifles were manufactured in the 1942/43 time frame and were the predecessor to the later more successful G/K43 series of rifles, that proved to be easier to manufacture and more reliable. These early rifle used the "Bang Gas-Trap" which was time consuming and expensive to manufacture. This rifle has the Type 1 machined receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, gas cone and early action cover, with almost all of the internal parts machined as well. The receiver side wall is marked "G.41 duv 43/Eagle/ 214" followed by the serial number "8944". The trigger guard and box magazine are the correct stamped wartime versions, with the stamped barrel bands and buttplate. The stock is the correct wartime laminated model that is marked on the right side with a double "Eagle 214" Waffenamt proof and a single "Eagle 214" Waffenamt proof in the pistol grip area. The rifle is equipped with the later production dark red/brown phenolic resin (plastic) handguard as manufactured in 1941/42 time frame. It is complete with a front sight cover and cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 80% of the original blue finish overall with even honest edge and high spot wear overall. The period modified butt stock and handguard are fine with minor handling marks with some extensive crude reshaping of the front of the pistol grip area, with a duffle bag cut. The rifle has all visible matching numbers with clear visible stock proofs.
