Manufactured in 1946. The octagon barrel has the first style inscription, the only marking used on octagon barrels. Has a nickel beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The "W/P" in an oval proofmark is stamped on the top rear of the barrel and top front of the receiver. Mounted on a 17 groove flat bottom walnut forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine, 85% plus of the original blue finish remains with cycling and high edge wear along with some scattered minor scratches and a spot of cleaned oxidation. The wood is fine with scattered dents, scratches and minor flaking of the finish. Mechanically excellent.
