This Winchester Model 1890 slide action rifle was manufactured in 1893. The barrel has a blade front sight and a fixed rear sight. There is a Lyman style tang peep sight installed. The top tang has the second model markings of "WINCHESTER/-MODEL 1890-/PAT.JUNE26.8*DEC.6.92". The barrel is marked with the first style marking of "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/-WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.-". Mounted on a 12 groove round walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent shaped steel buttplate.

Fine as partially professionally refinished (barrel and magazine tube), the blue components retain 90% of the high quality finish with some cycling and high edge wear along with some minor flaking. There are scratches and dings underneath the finish on the barrel and some of the markings are faint. The casehardened components retain 25% of the original case colors with a mostly smooth gray patina on the balance. The bolt retains 95% of the original blue finish. The buttstock is fine with half of the original finish. The forearm is very good as lightly sanded and reoiled with scattered dings, scratches and a few minor chips are absent. Mechanically excellent.
