Manufactured in 1900. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two-line address/patent dates, "38 Cal." at the breech and the left side of the receiver is marked with the Rampant Colt. The serial number is located on the lower tang. Folding breech combination globe front, adjustable rear sights, and equipped with a short range tang mounted peep sight. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, full length magazine tube and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Fine as partially refinished (receiver and wood). The balance of rifle retains 70% original blue finish with edge wear and areas thinning to a plum blue. The hammer retains much of the darkened original case colors. The refinished wood is very good. The double line bordering on the non-factory replacement forearm has been recut and overall there are a few minor dings and handling marks. The markings are sharp. The action is fine.
