Description:

This is a Remington Model 1875 Single Action Army revolver. The revolver has a high polish blue finish with case-hardened hammer, trigger and loading gate. The two-piece walnut grips have a varnish finish. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "E.REMINGTON & SONS. ILLION.N.Y. U.S.A." in one line. The caliber designation "44" is stamped on the left side of the trigger guard bow. The batch number "201" is stamped on the left side of the frame beneath the grips and written on the inside of each grip. The barrel has a nickel-silver front sight blade. The revolver is not fitted with the lanyard ring that was standard on early Model 1875 revolvers.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 85% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish. The left side of the barrel has some finish loss and scattered light pitting. There is finish wear on the high points of the barrel, frame and trigger guard and the cylinder has a drag line. The blue finish on the back strap has faded to a dark patina. The hammer, loading gate and trigger retain nearly all of the vivid original case colors. The grips are in very fine-excellent condition and have most of the varnish finish. The barrel markings are crisp. This is a an exceptional, high condition, example of a blued finish Remington Model 1875 Single Action Army Revolver.
