The lock is marked with the eagle shield motif followed by "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" ahead of the hammer. It is fitted with the low arch breech block, marked "U.S./MODEL/1873". The left rear of the barrel is marked with the "V/P/Eagle head/P and A" proof marks on top and it has the standard blade front sight and Buffington rear sight. It is fitted with the full length walnut one-piece walnut stock with two barrel bands, button head cleaning rod and "U.S." marked buttplate without compartment. The left side of the stock has the boxed "SWP/1886" cartouche with a circled script "P" on the underside behind the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the original blue finish overall with extremely minor edge wear. The markings are clear and sharp and the breech block and breech plug have 97% plus of their case colors overall. The stock is also in excellent condition with a nice original dark color overall showing minor handling marks and light scratches on the side of the butt with clear distinct cartouches and proofs. Mechanically excellent.
