Manufactured in 1957, this is one of only 683 Winchester Model 70 Target Rifles manufactured in the 243 Winchester caliber. The left side of the barrel has the standard Winchester address, trade mark, model and caliber designation marking, with the Winchester oval proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The heavy barrel has front sight base, and scope bases are mounted on the barrel and front receiver ring. The top rear of the receiver are drilled and tapped for scope/sight mounting and there is a sight base mounted on the left rear of the receiver. The serial number is marked on the right front of the receiver and the matching number is marked on the bolt. Straight receiver tang, hinged floor plate and late type safety. The barrel and receiver have a matte finish and the trigger guard and floor plate are polished. Mounted on a smooth one-piece pistol grip match stock with a beaver tail forearm, sling swivels, six hole accessory rail and flat checkered steel buttplate. Comes with a Lyman Super Targetspot 15 power scope with spring, rubber eye piece and micrometer adjustable ring. The scope comes in a Lyman wooden case.

Excellent. The rifle retains 99% original blue finish with only light handling marks. The stock is also excellent with some fading of the varnish, and some light scratches and handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The scope is excellent with 95% original blue finish with wear from adjusting the rings and clear optics. The case is excellent.
