The research letter states this gun was completed on May 21st, 1875, that it was a Quality 0 10 gauge, 30 inch Twist Steel barrels, that the chokes put 145 #8 pellets in a 24" circle at 45 yards, LOP was 14 1/4", DAH was 2 3/4" and it weighed 8 pounds.

Rating Definition:

Fine, the barrels retain 75% of the faded original brown finish with most of the Damascus pattern visible. There is a brown patina on the lighter colored steel, some scattered minor handling marks and a couple small spots of oxidation. The casehardened components retain 30% of the original case colors mostly in the protected areas with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The trigger guard retains 80% of the bright original high polish blue. The wood is very good with a crack on the left side between the lock plate and trigger guard along with some scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
