Description:

This is a fine example of a Webley & Scott Model WG (Webley & Green) Target revolver complete with English retailer oak case. The revolver has a high polish blue finish with bright hammer, trigger and two-piece checkered walnut grips. The front sight has a nickel-silver blade and the target rear sight is drift adjustable for windage. The butt is fitted with a casehardened lanyard loop. The top of the barrel rib is unmarked, with the left side of the barrel lug roll marked "450". The left side of the frame is roll stamped with "WEBLEY/PATENTS" followed by the "Winged Bullet/W&S" trademark. The serial number "9051" is roll stamped on the lower right side of the frame. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with the caliber "455" and the partial serial number "051" between chambers. The oak case has a round brass escutcheon inlaid in the center of the lid, which has been engraved in intertwined script letters: "RHCMW". The lid is reinforced with brass screws. The case is lined with navy blue fabric and has six compartments including a thirty-round cartridge block, however contains no additional accessories.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 70% of the original blue with loss on the grip straps and sides of the cylinder. The moderately worn grips are very good with light handling marks and scratches. The oak case is very good with 75% of the original varnish overall with some repairs on the corners with a couple of corners reglued. The hinges and brass locks are very good, however it is missing the small brass cover plate on the front lock.
