Description:

This is an exceptional example of a "G" date P.08 Luger pistol produced in 1935 during the early years of German rearmament. The chamber is stamped with the letter "G" for the date 1935 with the front toggle marked "S/42". The right side of the barrel extension has the boxed: "W/154" and "S/92" Waffenamt proofs with the early "Eagle/63" firing proof. It is numbered in the military manner with the major parts; frame, barrel and barrel extension, with the last two digits (64) stamped on the various smaller parts. The safety and extractor are properly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. It has the rust blued finish with the straw colored smaller parts. It is fitted with a set of unnumbered, checkered walnut grips and is complete with two matching, nickel plated magazine with aluminum bases, both are marked "7664/c/Eagle 154" proofed, (the second magazine has slightly different sized numbers from the first and has been restamped). It has an early all black leather holster marked on the back side, "C. HPINIGHEN/DRESDEN" and "Eagle/WaA142/1935". The takedown has the rare early "S/42 G" proof mark.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 97% of the blued finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The various smaller parts retains 90% of a dark straw colors overall. There has been some cold blue applied to typical holster wear spots including the muzzle side plate and frame rail. The walnut grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides with minor handling marks. The holster is in very good condition with nice black color overall showing light wear and scuffing in some areas with tight stitching and clear distinct markings on the back, with both belt loops have been repaired and re-riveted to the back of the holster. It has matching numbers except for the grips, which are unnumbered.
