Very good. The barrel retains 80% original thinning blue finish with areas of plum patina. The receiver retains 70% plus original fading case colors with a smooth dove gray patina on the balance. The lever and buttplate also retain a strong 70% original faded case colors with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The buttstock is very fine with some scattered minor dings and dents. The forearm is revarnished. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. This is a desirable Winchester Model 1885 High Wall rifle in its original 45-70 caliber.
