Introduced in 1936, the new pattern of SS dagger supplemented the original 1933 dagger, with the caveat that the '36 pattern was intended specifically for those considered to be an "SS Man", an officer or a minimum 3-year enlisted veteran. Measuring 13 1/2 inches overall, with the 8 5/8 inch double edged spear point blade showing the acid etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) motto on the obverse and no markings on the reverse. Nickel cross guard and hilt, with no external markings on the guard and the SS rune medallion and national eagle inlaid into the ebony grip. The sheath is black enamel finished with nickel fittings, showcasing the distinctive swastika patterned middle band and chain hanger (2 links front, 4 links back), showing alternating sig runes and death's heads on the links, and the "crossed bolt" rune on the rear of one of the front links.

Excellent. The metal shows a small amount of handling marks, with a few very light pressure dents on the grip. The sheath is also excellent, with a fine dark patina on the chain and some light finish flaking on the sheath body. A fine example of a late production 1936 Pattern SS Dagger.
