Measuring 13 3/4 inches overall, the 8 5/8 inch double edged spear point blade is etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) on the obverse, and the reverse is etched with the "RZM" logo, "M7/80" and "RZM1197/38(SS runes)". The guard and pommel are both nickel finished, with an alloy Nazi Eagle and a black and silver enamel SS badge set into the blackened hardwood grip. With a black enamel finished sheath with nickel finished throat and tip, a leather hanger stamped "(SS runes) 38/38 RZM" and a "M5/8" (Assmann and Sons) marked clip.

Fine. A slight bend is visible in the tip, with light spotting on the otherwise bright blade. 80% of the original hilt finish remains, with some dings in the wood and a short crack towards the pommel. The sheath is also fine, with some flaking of the enamel and mild spotting.
