Patterned after the more conventional jackboot, with canvas replacing leather as the primary construction material. The top, front and rear of the boot are reinforced with long sections of brown leather, which double as the joint for the left and right sides of the canvas body, with additional reinforcement at the toe and heel. The sole of the boot is nailed-on leather, with a 1 inch hell and an integral boot jack. A pair of canvas bootstraps are positioned on the interior, with a stamp on the leather reinforcement reading "VA103/41 SS" on each boot.
