This attractive example was manufactured in 1895. The number "2" octagon barrel has two-line barrel address and patent dates, a windage adjustable Globe front sight and the rear sight dovetail has a filler block installed. There is a mid range Vernier peep sight installed on the top tang. Fitted with a close coupled set trigger. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm with contrasting ebony inlay and Schnabel tip and a straight grip walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate.

Very fine, 98% of the original blue finish remains with some high edge and handling wear along with a few scattered minor marks. The casehardened components retain much of the original case colors with some scattered minor scratches, dings and some minor freckles of oxidation. The refinished wood is fine with some scattered dings, scratches and areas of discoloration. Mechanically excellent. It is uncommon to find a Winchester Model 1885 single shot rifle with this much original blue and case colors!
