This is an extraordinary example of an original U.S. M1 Rock Island Arsenal National Match Trophy Springfield M1 Rifle. Blade front and peep rear sights, with the former marked "NM/062" on the right side, the latter marked "NM/595" on the front, "NM/2A" on the right side wing and "NM" on the windage drum. The barrel is Line Machine production, dated "9-53". The trigger housing, safety and bolt are Springfield, with a Remington "NM" operating rod and a "5546008 HR AD" marked hammer. Smooth pistol grip stock, with an inlaid panel on the right side marked "Rock Island Arsenal/National Match/TROPHY", green canvas sling and a checkered buttplate with storage compartment (cleaning equipment included).

Very fine as arsenal presentation embellished, showing 99% of the high polish blue, with mild handling marks overall and the start of a copper tone patina on the gas cylinder. The bolt retains nearly all of the chrome. The stock is excellent, with minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
