Manufactured circa 1948. The left side of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, "OFFICIAL POLICE/.38 SPECIAL CTG." on the left, and the Rampant Colt is on the left side of the frame. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, all blue finish and fitted with checkered plastic grips with the Rampant Colt molded at the top. Comes with the original maroon hinged lid box numbered to the gun, "Notice To Gunsmiths", "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlet, "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet, and cleaning brush.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% of the original blue finish with some very mild muzzle wear and a very faint cylinder drag line. The grips are as new. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The box is good with two broken corners on the lid, some corner wear, some loss of material and some wear in two spots from the hammer.
