Description:

Has a quick detachable Lyman 77R Globe front sight on the sight base near the muzzle and there are two scope blocks, missing one mounting screw spaced 10 inches apart at the rear of the barrel. There is a base for a rear peep sight on the tang. The top of the barrel is marked "STEVENS-POPE/MANUFACTURED BY THE J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO. CHICOPEE FALLS. MASS. U.S.A." and the bottom of the right hand twist barrel under the forearm is marked "20/124", "999" and "25 20 VP 14". Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm with Schnabel tip marked "10794" on the inside and on a nicely figured straight grip stock with perch belly and curved steel buttplate. Comes with a wooden case.

Rating Definition:

Partially refinished (receiver, lever and buttplate), the barrel retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with some high edge wear, scattered minor scratches and dings and some areas of brown patina. The receiver retains 98% plus of the high quality blue finish with some scattered minor scratches. The lever and buttplate have a purplish/brown patina. The forearm is an original Stevens numbered to another gun and is very fine with some scattered dings and scratches. The refinished buttstock is very fine with some scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
