Manufactured after 1913 and subsequently customized. The bottom of the H.M. Pope barrel (probably .22 LR) is dated 1917, there is an Unertl style scope block at the muzzle and there are two Unertl style scope bases mounted 8 inches apart at the breech end. The right side of the frame has been relieved to more easily load cartridges and it has a single set trigger. There is a sight mount dovetailed into the left side of the receiver. Mounted on a nicely figured, diamond pattern checkered wide walnut forearm with contrasting tip and accessory rail, and a pistol grip stock with contrasting grip cap, raised comb and adjustable aluminum buttplate stamped "FREELAND". With an extra hooked buttplate stamped "AL FREELAND".

Very fine as custom built, 99% of the high quality blue finish remains with some scattered minor scratches. The wood is very good with some scattered minor scratches, dings and flaking of the finish on the forend tip. Mechanically excellent.
