Description:

This auction is a professionally built 40mm rifled cannon with a custom made bullet mold. Barrel is 34 inches long, 21 inches tall wooden spoked, metal banded wheels, approximately 29 inches across the axle and weighs 170 pounds. The cannon was made from a rifled 40mm antitank barrel and machined to its present contour. The barrel has a removable breech plug which makes removal of a stuck bullet and cleaning very easy. The barrel has a high post sight and adjustable military tangent rear sight, which according to the consignor are very accurate. The bullets are slightly undersized to utilize the use of a patch. The bullet mold is constructed of aluminum and iron. This is a unique one of a kind cannon

Rating Definition:

Fine as custom made. The brass hardware on the carriage has an artificially aged patina. The bullet mold is moderately oxidized.
