Manufactured in 1906 and subsequently embellished with floral scroll and punch dot engraving on the barrel, frame, cylinder flats, ejector housing, trigger guard and back strap. The top of the replacement barrel has the one-line address, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45"" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three-patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all gold finish and fitted with smooth ivory grips. The revolver comes in a contemporary wooden case with red velvet lining. In the case is a blue ribbon for the 1940 Texas State Fair, First Premium Hobby Show.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally custom embellished with most gold finish remaining and the balance of the nickel finish under the gold. The grips are a bit oversize and remain fine with some attractive age cracks forming, and an attractive grain and patina. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is fine. The case is good with a few minor nicks and scratches on the exterior, two corners on the case and lid beginning to separate and a couple of minor cracks in the lid. The lining shows some minor contact wear and the latch on the lid is bent.
