Manufactured in 1916 and subsequently engraved later in the 20th Century. The revolver features floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background on the rear sides of the barrel, frame, cylinder flats, trigger guard and back strap. The top of barrel is marked with the one-line "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." marking and the left side of barrel is marked "38 W.C.F.". The left side of the frame has two-line, three-date patent marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The ejector housing and assembly, cylinder pin, cylinder, trigger and hammer are gold plated with nickel finish on the remaining parts, dovetailed blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with smooth plastic grips.

Professionally custom embellished with 99% high polish nickel finish and 90% gold finish remaining. One of the cylinder flutes has a small area where the finish has flaked off and the flutes show pin point type blistering. The hammer shows some finish loss from normal handling. The grips are a bit ill-fitting and remain very good with some minor scratches and scuffs. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
