Manufactured in 1946 (receiver) during the transition period (late 1945-1951). Chamber in the desirable 7 mm or commonly termed 7 x 57 mm caliber. This caliber was introduced to the Model 70 line in 1937 and discontinued in 1949, so standard production was very limited and is one of the most difficult calibers to locate today. Hooded ramp front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. The receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting and has a cloverleaf tang. The Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. "-SUPER GRADE-" is marked on the floor plate. Polished bolt numbered to gun and pre-war safety. The grip stock features multi-point checkering, a cheekpiece, an ebony forend tip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, quick release sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish with a few minor handling marks. The stock is near mint with a few light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
