Manufactured in 1946 (receiver) during the transition period (late 1945-1951). Super Grade pre-64 Model 70 carbines in 35 Remington were manufactured on a special order only. Winchester introduced the 35 Remington caliber to its line of Model 70s in 1941 and offered the caliber for a short time before being discontinued in 1947. Hooded ramp front sight and a filler block in the rear dovetail slot on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. The receiver is tapped for scope mounting at the front and has a Lyman sight (stock not inletted) and cloverleaf tang. "-SUPER GRADE-" marked floor plate and Winchester proof on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Pre-war safety, quick release sling swivels, solid bolt knob and polished bolt numbered to gun. Nicely figured pistol grip stock featuring multi-point checkering, cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The carbine retains nearly all of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The stock is near mint showing a couple minor pressure dents and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
