This Winchester Model 70 rifle is chambered in the 7 mm or commonly termed the 7 x 57 mm caliber. This caliber was introduced to the Model 70 line in 1937 and discontinued in 1949, so standard production was very limited and is one of the most difficult calibers to locate today. This example was manufactured in 1950 during the transition period (late 1945-1951). Hooded ramp front and elevation adjustable rear sights on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver. The receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting. Late safety, straight receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The nicely figured straight comb pistol grip stock features checkering and a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing a couple very light handling marks. The stock is fine with a few mild handling marks and re-cut checkering. Mechanically excellent.
