Manufactured in 1948 during the transition period (late 1945-51). Chambered in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. Hooded ramp front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver. Receiver tapped for scope and sight mounting, transition safety, cloverleaf receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The checkered pistol grip stock has a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing light machine marks on the breech end of the barrel and limited light handling marks. The stock is also very fine with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
