Unique W.R.A. Co. Inscribed Winchester Factory Cartridge Test Standard Arms Model G Slide Action

The included Henry Ford Museum letter states that the rifle was acquired by Winchester for testing ammunition and the engraved "W.R.A. Co. 3-11-10" receiver marking denotes Winchester ownership and the date it was acquired. The included Winchester Gun Museum letter states that the receiver marking denotes when Winchester acquired the rifle for test purposes. Lyman blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight, two line Standard Arms Co. barrel address, Japanned bronze alloy forearm and buttplate featuring high relief wildlife and logo designs and straight grip walnut stock. The Winchester marking is on the right side of the receiver. According to the consignor, there are only two known Winchester acquired Standard Arms rifles.

ConditionVery fine. The rifle retains 85% plus original blue finish showing a smooth gray patina on the balance with some minor scratches. Two tapped holes are present on the top rear of the frame and two tapped holes are present over the barrel address. The tapped holes are believed to be for pressure test gauges. The forearm and buttplate have an attractive patina. The stock is excellent with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
