Description:

Manufactured in 1855. The top barrel flat is marked with the one line London address and "COLT'S/PATENT" stamped on the left side of the frame. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, back strap, loading lever and cylinder pin. The wedge is numbered "702". The left side of the barrel lug is marked with a "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proofmark. The two proof marks are also marked on the cylinder alternating between the nipple recesses. The right side of lower grip is marked "LC" over "A5". Brass blade front and hammer notch rear sights, and fitted with a smooth one piece grip. Comes with a small unmarked powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Very good as Arsenal refurbished with 85% Armory blue finish remaining with a brown patina on the grip straps. There is some scattered minor pitting under the finish. The cylinder is void of a scene and only the serial number is visible. The grip is good with some lower edge wear and scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is fine. The flask is fair with a gray patina, several soldered holes and a couple of holes.
