Description:

Manufactured in 1861. The top barrel flat is marked "COLT'S PT/1855" and "ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." with Maltese crosses. The fluted cylinder has the 1850 patent date in one of the flutes. The barrel is numbered to gun. Fitted with a varnished one piece grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (butt). The revolver retains 30% original blue finish on the remaining surfaces with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grip is very fine with a series of minor pressure dents on the bottom and a few minor handling marks, some lower edge wear and much of the varnish remaining. Mechanically needs work, the hammer does not always cock properly.
