Produced by an unknown maker, this is a 5-shot manually rotated pinfire pepperbox revolver installed onto a German silver ring. The design originated in France, most commonly under the "Petit Protector" name, with small 4mm chambers which could accept a solid ball round or a blank cartridge. The ring (U.S. size 10 1/4) is decorated with light vine engraving and "LE PETIT GARDIAN" around a niter blue drive spring for the smooth hammer. Included with the lot is a modern jewelry case.

Near mint as custom made, with 95% of the niter blue finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall, as well as a bright drag line on the cylinder. The ring shows a small crack on the inside at the bottom, with light external wear. Mechanically very good.
