Type: Pistol
Gauge: 36
Barrel: 6 1/4 inch round
Finish: brown
Grip: hardwood

Item Views: 1356

Catalog Page: 142
Class: Antique
Description:

Measuring 18 inches in overall length, with a 13 3/8 inch (measured from font of trigger guard) blade dovetailed into the underside of the 6 inch round barrel and integrated into the trigger guard. Fitted with a brass blade front sight and notch rear sight, with a serrated hammer spur and smooth bag shaped grips. Almost identical to an example photographed on the bottom of page 470 of the William Locke Collection, identified as a Morrill, Mosman & Blair Elgin Cutlass pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel and knife blade show a mixed brown and gray patina overall, the frame and lock show a darker color, and mild spotting and handling marks are visible overall. The grip is good, with some light dents and scuffs. Half-cock needs adjustment, otherwise mechanically good.
